First Class Package International rates are based off the exact weight in ounces, and the destination country. Destination countries are grouped; use the table below the rates to determine each country's group number. They generally fall into the geographical region we've summarized in the rate table, but there are exceptions.
It’s a little confusing, but while domestic First Class Package Service® has a limit of 15.9 ounces (just under 1 pound), packages shipped internationally with First Class Package International Service can weigh up to 64 ounces (4 pounds).
First Class Package International is the cheapest service USPS offers for international shipping. If your package is over 4 pounds, or if you want a faster service, use Priority Mail International® instead.
USPS hands off First Class Package International packages at the border, so the destination country’s local postal service will make the final delivery to your recipient. Depending on which country you’re shipping to, delivery can take between 1 to 4 weeks.
If you’re shipping to one of the countries below, your package will receive full tracking scans from pickup to delivery through the USPS International Electronic Delivery Confirmation program, also known as E-DELCON.
Tracking scan updates are available to view in Pirate Ship, from the USPS® tracking website, or usually from the website of the national postal service in the recipient's country.
First Class Package International rates are based off the destination country's pricing group. All countries and their price group are listed below.
Not every country has as reliable of a postal service as the United States, so we recommend two things when it comes to international shipping: patience and insurance.
Delivery can take up to 4 weeks for remote or undeveloped countries, and there is also a chance of packages arriving damaged or becoming lost. International shipping is expensive, and it’s always a good idea to insure your package, so you can file a claim if something happens. Pirate Ship makes it super easy with cheap shipping insurance rates and a fully managed claims process.
